Damien Hirst has released a set of 12 postcards featuring his new charity editions, Butterfly Rainbow and Butterfly Heart, superimposed onto British landmarks. Also available until midnight Monday 25th May, the images show artificial projections of the colourful artworks on the sides of well-known attractions, including Westminster Abbey, Edinburgh Castle, York Minster, Durham Cathedral, Stonehenge and Buckingham Palace.
The postcards have been created to support NHS Charities Together and The Felix Project. All profits from the sales of the postcards will be donated to the charities.
“It’s also great to be able to help people in need by creating digital images, especially since most people aren’t allowed out in the world during the lockdown. I’ve made the postcards so that everyone has a chance to own one, and all the profits will be donated to charity. It feels right to show what can be done from a lockdown situation with a bit of computer magic and lateral thinking.”
